JOINING CRITERIA
New recruits must be aged 13 to 15 years old or 12 years old and attending high school in 2021
FIRST YEAR FEES
Your first year at 30 Squadron will cost $350. This fee includes:
- Your Basic Recruit Training Weekend (Compulsory first camp)
- Squadron Polo Shirt (Issued to you on the BRT Weekend)
- Uniform bond of $70
PARADE NIGHTS
30 Squadron parades every Thursday night, during the school term. Our parade night starts from 6:30pm (1830hrs) until 9:30pm (2130hrs).
On these Parade Nights Cadets will learn the following subjects throughout the year:
- Aviation Studies
- Drill
- Firearm Safety range shooting
- Bushcraft
- General Service Knowledge
- History of the RNZAF and the Unit
- First Aid
- Leadership
- Navigation
- Instructional Technique
- Radio Communications
- Dress and Bearing
WEEKEND ACTIVITIES
30 Squadron runs a variety of activities on weekends including:
- Bushcraft camp
- Survival camp
- Tramping
- Powered aircraft flying
- Gliding
- Formal parades e.g. ANZAC Day, Battle of Britain
- Combined Auckland ATC Sports Day
- Shooting and more!
